Careers at New Lambton Veterinary Clinic
Do you have a heart for general veterinary practice? Would you like to know most of the clients on a first name basis, and love their pets from puppy and kittenhood through to adulthood and beyond? Do you want to work in a team that is committed to giving every patient the absolute best care they need and that strives to connect in each situation to discuss as many options as possible in providing care for patients – whether this means gold standard specialist treatment or another approach, recognising that every owner and pet has a different relationship and different goals? Would you like to work with us?
Being part of the team at New Lambton Veterinary Clinic gives you automatic membership into our group – a group committed to continually improving their clinical performance, honing their skills with continuing education, sharing their knowledge and supporting and celebrating with each other through triumphs and failures. Our team currently consists of four vets, four veterinary nurses and a receptionist. We are a Partner in Practice with the University of Sydney and host third and final year Veterinary Science students as per degree requirements. We also support the local TAFE and a host a number of veterinary nursing students through their course. Our work is largely with dogs and cats but we see our share of birds, reptiles and natives, brought in for care from our friends in the Native Animal Trust Fund.
Working in a centrally located purpose built state-of-the-art facility, fifteen minutes from Newcastle Beach, with digital X-ray, ultrasound, Idexx in-house pathology, recently updated computers with off site access and Rxworks software, practice wide VIN membership, a SONOS music system AND a DeLonghi coffee machine in the staff room (should we have mentioned that first?), we are almost directly across the road from the Animal Referral and Emergency Centre, meaning that after hours work is not a feature. We are a family friendly workplace uniquely sensitive to the demands of parenthood.
Join our workplace
Our successful applicants are bright happy self motivated individuals with something positive to bring to the group. We have been caring for local pets for over 15 years, with some staff now heading for long service leave, but having recently moved to a main road location we are a fast growing practice and expect to be steadily recruiting over the next year or so. If we don’t have a position available now it is likely that we soon will, so if you think you are the right fit, please give us a call or send us a message!
